Kenyan politics has been marred by violence and intimidation, with the latest incident occurring in Kibra during the mini-election. Moses Kuria, a member of parliament from the South Gatundu constituency, has called on Raila Odinga, the leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), to apologize for the violence.

According to Kuria, the ODM party must take responsibility for the violence and apologize to the people of Kibra. He warned that failure to do so will result in opposition to the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), a constitutional reform process aimed at addressing the country's governance challenges.

"Chama cha ODM lazima kiombe msamaha kuhusu ghasia zilizoshuhudiwa Kibra. Kama hawataomba msamaha, basi hakuna BBI," Kuria said in a statement.

DP William Ruto has also weighed in on the issue, calling on the ODM party to apologize for the violence. "Lazima Tinga na chama yake ya ODM waombe Wakenya na watu wa Kibra msamaha kwa umma, hatuwezi kuwa na magenge ya vijana wakitumiwa kuhangaisha wapiga kura kama vile tulishuhudia Kibra," Ruto said.

Kuria has also taken issue with the ODM party's characterization of Kibra as a 'bedroom' of Raila, saying that such language is divisive and contributes to the country's political polarization.
