On Sunday, a 26-year-old man took his own life at Nyangati St. John Catholic church in Kutus, Kirinyaga County, disrupting a Sunday service.
The body of Dennis Bundi was discovered by a worshipper, who alerted others after finding him dangling from a tree with a rope around his neck.
Police officers from Wang'uru Police Station took the body away, allowing the church service to continue.
This was the third reported suicide in the area in less than a week, following two cases on Friday.
On Friday, 40-year-old Simon Kinyua committed suicide at Kanjata village in Kutus location, reportedly over the death of a friend who was gunned down in Thika.
Another man, 32-year-old Daniel Mwaniki, hanged himself in his house in Ngomongo Village in Kirinyaga Central, allegedly due to domestic wrangles with his wife.
According to Kutus Chief Nancy Gichuki, Kinyua had told his friends he would kill himself after his friend's death.
