President Uhuru Kenyatta's visit to ACK Kenol church in Murang'a was cancelled at the last minute, with three cabinet secretaries representing him instead.

According to Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i, the President was busy receiving dignitaries arriving in the country to attend the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD-25) in Nairobi on Monday.

Dr. Matiang'i said the national government would solidify and coordinate all projects being implemented in the county, ensuring that residents appreciate the President's efforts.

He added that the President was keenly following up on the progress of projects at the county level and would soon visit the area to commission several projects, including the dualing of the Sagana-Marua road.

Transport CS James Macharia highlighted three major projects in the county, including the construction of the Kenol-Sagana-Marua dual carriage Highway at a cost of 30 billion shillings.

CS Mucheru praised the handshake between President Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga, saying it had paved the way for unity amongst Kenyans and allowed the government to run its business.

During the event, Dr. Matiang'i delivered a 2 million shillings contribution from the President to the church.
