Gor Mahia claimed the Mashemeji Derby bragging rights after thumping AFC Leopards 4-1 in a Kenyan Premier League clash on November 10, 2019, at the MISC Kasarani.
The match started cautiously, with neither team willing to give up an early goal. However, Gor Mahia's Francis Afriye and Gislein Yikpe partnership wreaked havoc in the Leopards defense, creating several scoring opportunities in the first 20 minutes.
Yikpe eventually broke the deadlock in the 55th minute with a bullet header from Kenneth Muguna's corner, putting K'Ogalo ahead. Leopards were shaken by the goal and conceded a second in the 64th minute when Yikpe rifled the ball into the roof of the net after receiving a cross from Clifton Miheso.
Leopards put some respect on the scoreline in the 83rd minute when Tresor Ndikumama's cracker went in after the K'Ogalo defense failed to clear the lines. However, Gor Mahia drilled in the final nail on Leopards' coffin in the 88th minute when Boniface Omondi's cross found Lawrence Juma to tap in with the simplest of finishes.
Gor Mahia held on for the win to move to the summit of the table as Leopards suffered their second loss of the season.
