Embu Governor Martin Wambora has found himself in a legal battle with the county assembly over revenue collection. The dispute began when the assembly passed a motion suspending all revenue collection until officials accused of corruption step aside.

On November 10, 2019, Governor Wambora filed a petition at the Embu High Court seeking to halt the implementation of the assembly's resolution. He urged the court to certify his petition as urgent and be heard and concluded in the shortest time possible.

Embu County Assembly Speaker Josiah Thiriku and Clerk Jim Kauma have been cited as respondents in the case. In her ruling, Justice Florence Muchemi issued a conservatory order restraining the county public service board and county secretary from implementing the resolutions until the suit is heard and determined.

The case will be mentioned on November 14, 2019. Three chief officers serving in Governor Wambora's administration have been listed as interested parties in the case.
