Kenya has received the largest investment from the US government in Africa, totaling approximately Ksh700 billion, with a focus on water and health projects.

US Ambassador to Kenya Kyle McCarter made the announcement during a visit to Makueni County, where he commissioned several projects and praised the county's leadership for their efforts to improve residents' lives.

McCarter emphasized the importance of devolution, stating that it is the best form of government due to its closeness to citizens, and that with great planning, it can deliver the best for everyone.

He also highlighted the potential of Kenya to become self-reliant, citing the country's great resources and people as its greatest assets.

During the visit, the ambassador launched the Makueni water policy booklet, witnessed the graduation of 50 HIV-free children, and commissioned the Makutano Sinai water project in Kathonzweni Sub County.

The US government has invested over Sh111.8 million in water projects across Makueni County, including boreholes, earth dams, and water kiosks.

Additionally, the US government has helped 16,000 women living with HIV/AIDS in 60 health facilities within the county to prevent mother-to-child HIV transmission since 2016.
