Kenyan musician Ali Kiba's recent breakup with his wife Amina Khalef has been making headlines, but it seems he's not ready to let go just yet.
His new song 'Mshumaa' has sparked rumors that he's still pining for his ex-wife, with lyrics that suggest he believes they'll be reunited in the afterlife.
According to the song, Ali Kiba says, 'Nakumiss. Tutaonana, hata Mungu akipanga, nikufe kesho, tutaonana tena. Ifike kesho, waniweke kwa mchanga, nikufe kesho.' (I miss you, we will see each other. If God plans that I die tomorrow, I believe, we will see each other.)
He also adds, 'Labda nikukumbushe, nilipokuvisha pete, ulisema huniachi mpaka nife.Uwepo wako ndio ulikua wangu uzima.' (Let me remind you, when I put a ring on you, you said you'll never leave me until I die. Your presence was my being.)
Ali Kiba and Amina may have separated, but they are not divorced. The musician has been open about his emotions, and it seems his new song is a reflection of his longing for his ex-wife.
