On November 5, 2019, at around 10pm, a shop in Kasarani was the scene of a brazen robbery and shooting. A CCTV camera captured the incident, which has been shared online.
Two young men, posing as customers, entered the shop. One of them stood at the doorway, drew a pistol, and ordered a male customer to back off. His accomplice then ransacked the cash box while the armed thug stood guard.
When the two thugs joined forces to ransack the cash box, a brave customer pounced on one of them and began punching the back of his head. After a short scuffle, the customer managed to run out of the shop with the gangsters in hot pursuit, shooting at him.
The customer was later admitted to the Kenyatta National Hospital with 7 gun shot wounds. According to the tweep who shared the video, the incident was 'just sad.'
Responding to the viral video, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said they have already commenced investigations into the incident. 'Detectives have already commenced investigations into this matter with the ultimate aim of bringing all those involved to book. Any person with any information about their IDENTITY can contact #DCI Kasarani or DM us,' the DCI tweeted.
