On November 10, 2019, Ethic Entertainment's latest song, 'Tarimbo', sparked outrage among fans and followers due to a line in the lyrics that promoted rape.

The song's hook, which repeated the phrase 'mimi hupenda chapa na Tarimbo mimi huchapa na nakanyaga na namwaga bila hata permission' (I love to rape with Tarimbo, I will rape without permission), was widely condemned.

Dr. Ezekiel Mutua, a vocal critic of the Gengetone genre, took swift action and ensured the song was removed from YouTube.

As a result, Ethic Entertainment received their first warning, with the threat of losing their YouTube page if they receive two more warnings.

Despite the backlash, the song managed to reach a million views before being pulled down.

Earlier, the group had posted an apology on social media, stating, 'We are remorseful...'
