On Saturday, 9 November, Embakasi East Member of Parliament Paul Ongili, popularly known as Babu Owino, issued a stern warning to the government to construct roads in his constituency or risk being kicked out of the area.
Babu ordered the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) to construct the road from Fedha state and Nyayo Gate B in Embakasi east with immediate effect or move out of his constituency.
Speaking at the 20th Anniversary of Good Testimony Schools, Babu said, “I’m going to ensure that road is constructed, on Monday I will be at KURA offices, they are based at JKIA, if they can’t construct for us a road, they better pack from our constituency and look for another.”
Babu vowed to use diplomacy to achieve his goals but warned that when diplomacy fails, he would use force to ensure the construction of the roads for the benefit of his constituents.
He also promised to support the best-performed KCSE students by giving a full scholarship to five of them, with three being the top performers and two for the most improved.
