Nairobi Archdiocese Cardinal John Njue has cautioned Kenyans against individuals who seek to advance a destructive agenda that could harm the country.

Speaking during the 50th Jubilee anniversary of Machakos Diocese on November 10, 2019, Cardinal Njue urged Kenyans to be vigilant and question the motives of those who offer advice that may not be in the country's best interest.

“Before you say yes to anything, ask yourself whether it is good for your country,” Cardinal Njue advised.

He lamented that many of the messages being preached by some individuals are driven by selfish interests rather than a genuine desire to improve the lives of Kenyans.

Cardinal Njue called on Kenyans to pray for peace and stability in the country.

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, who also attended the event, expressed concern over the prevalence of corruption in the country, stating that it hinders economic growth.

“Looters are respected and honoured at the expense of Kenyans, a trend that should change,” Governor Mutua said.
