On November 10, 2019, the KCB Meru Rally took place in Nkubu, but it was marred by a high-speed accident involving Manvir Baryan and Drew Sturrock on stage 4.
According to a social media post by Sturrock, the two were airlifted to the Aga Khan hospital for treatment after Baryan suffered neck injuries.
Despite the accident, Onkar Rai, navigated by Gavin Laurance, emerged victorious in the rally.
