On November 7, 2019, a disturbing incident occurred in Nairobi when Mercy Mukhana allegedly poured hot milk on her employer, Virginia Njeri Gathimu, causing extensive injuries.
Makadara chief magistrate Heston Nyaga was presented with a request from Corporal Henry Ireri of Kasarani police station to detain Mukhana for four days pending investigations.
However, Nyaga declined the request, instead freeing Mukhana on a cash bail of Sh20, 000.
The case will be mentioned in court on November 12, 2019, for plea.
