On November 10, 2019, the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) requested Google to remove the song 'Tarimbo' by Ethic Entertainment from YouTube, citing its violent and misogynistic content.

Google has since deleted the song from YouTube, with KFCB CEO Ezekiel Mutua commending the move on Facebook.

‘Tarimbo is now totally deleted from YouTube and the channel owner served first warning. After a third violation, the channel will be totally deactivated. We thank Google for supporting our efforts to clean the digital space and make it safe for children,’ wrote Mutua.

However, the song's creators, Ethic Entertainment, had previously apologized for any offense caused, stating that they did not intend to objectify women in their music and strongly condemned rape.
