On November 10, 2019, CRDB Bank PLC, a Tanzania-based lender, was awarded the overall 2019 Financial Reporting Award. The bank, which operates in Tanzania and Burundi, also excelled in international financial reporting standards (IFRS) compliance and the overall country category in Tanzania.
The awards, organized by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya, the Capital Market Authority, the Nairobi Securities Exchange, and the Public Sector Accounting Standard Board, recognized outstanding financial reporting in various categories. CRDB Bank PLC's achievement was among the 693 entries received this year, a significant increase from the 456 entries in the previous year.
Other winners included NIC Bank in Kenya, Stanbic Bank Uganda Holdings Limited in Uganda, Safaricom, UAP Insurance, Faulu Microfinance, Kenya Tea Development Agency, Stima Sacco, Kenya Commercial Bank, and Co-operative Bank of Kenya.
