On November 9, 2019, Mwamba Rugby Club made a statement in the Kenya Cup, recovering from a 43-9 loss to Kabras Sugar the previous weekend by thrashing returnees Kisumu RFC 65-22 at the Impala Club.

This bonus-point win lifted Mwamba's points tally to 9, six points behind table-toppers Kabras Sugar, who also secured maximum points in their home victory over Impala Saracens.

Reeling from their heavy defeat, Mwamba made a strong start, taking a commanding 50-14 lead at halftime before adding four more tries in the second half to seal the win.

Meanwhile, Kabras Sugar continued their winning streak, defeating Impala Saracens 27-3 at the Kakamega Showground. Paul Abuto, Eugene Sifuna, Timoci Sinaite, and Ntabeni Dukisa scored tries for Kabras, while Quinto Ongo got the visitors three points through a penalty.

Western Bulls registered their first win of the season, coming from behind to stun Kenya Harlequin 21-19 at the RFUEA grounds. Trailing 19-0 at halftime, Bulls managed to claw back into the match with Derrick Ashihundu scoring three tries.

Defending champions KCB continued their good form, inspired by a hat-trick of tries from Kenya Under-20 player Geoffrey Okwach to thrash Nakuru RFC 50-13 at the KCB Sports Club in Ruaraka.

Nondescripts bounced back from last weekend's upset against Kisumu RFC, beating Blak Blad 38-23 at the Kenyatta University grounds.
