Published on November 9, 2019, Pete Doherty, the infamous Libertines frontman, found himself in hot water after a Paris cocaine bust.

Early on a Friday morning, police arrested Doherty, carrying two packets of cocaine, one of which was already partly consumed.

Instead of facing the usual consequences, Doherty chose a simplified procedure, agreeing to pay daily 50-euro fines for 100 days. If he fails to comply, he risks being jailed.

The sentence still requires approval from a judge, but Doherty's lawyer, Arash Derambarsh, stated that his client had agreed to undergo full-time medical treatment for his addiction to avoid a relapse.

This is not Doherty's first run-in with the law. The bad boy of British rock has made headlines multiple times for his drug-related offenses.

One notable incident occurred in 2012, when he was thrown out of a luxury rehab clinic in Thailand due to claims that he was a bad influence on other patients and did not make sufficient efforts to overcome his heroin addiction.
