Residents of Muraka village in Kakamega County are in shock after a man was accused of cursing his father, leading to a grave being dug for him.

Chrispinus Makotsi, the son, has been accused of cursing his father, Mzee Okang'a, after a family dispute.

According to Makotsi, his father is the reason for his poverty and his wife's departure two years ago.

Makotsi allegedly dug a grave for his father and then killed one of his father's cows and buried it in the grave.

"When I saw him digging the grave, I knew he wanted to bury me alive. This is the second time my son has done this, every time he tells me he will curse me if I'm alive," Mzee Okang'a said.

Okang'a also revealed that he had decided to divide his land among his children equally to calm his son's anger, but the plan failed.

It is alleged that the cow should be taken for a special ritual to be sold and the proceeds used to alleviate the family's suffering.
