On November 9, 2019, Posta Rangers secured a crucial 3-0 win over Chemelil Sugar at the Narok County Stadium, ending a three-match draw streak in the Kenyan Premier League.
The victory propelled Posta Rangers to fifth place in the standings, just three points behind league leaders Tusker FC, who drew 1-1 with KCB FC at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.
Tusker FC had the opportunity to extend their lead but fell behind early due to Reagan Otieno's strike. KCB FC played with a man down for over an hour after Bethuel Warambo's red card, and Timothy Otieno's late penalty in stoppage time salvaged a point for the visitors.
Elsewhere, Kariobangi Sharks suffered a bitter defeat when Amani Kyata inadvertently turned the ball into his own net with five minutes left, handing Kisumu All-Stars a 1-0 win at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu.
Posta Rangers' Charles Odete opened the scoring in the 10th minute, tapping in a cross after a mix-up with Chemelil's defenders. Francis Nambute doubled the lead in the 29th minute, and Joseph Mbugi sealed the win with a goal in the 51st minute.
Coach Sammy Omollo praised his team's defense for a spirited fight in the final ten minutes and expressed hope for a similar performance against Nzoia Sugar FC in their next match.
