Uganda Airlines is set to launch direct flights from Entebbe to Mombasa, marking the carrier's seventh destination since resuming operations on August 27, 2019.
According to the airline, the maiden flight is scheduled to touch down at the Mombasa International Airport on November 11 at 1pm, carrying 76 passengers.
"Our maiden flight to Mombasa is just hours away, are you ready to come with us?" the airline tweeted.
The flights will operate three times a week on Monday, Friday, and Sunday, targeting both tourists and Ugandan traders who rely on the port of Mombasa for business.
Ugandan Consul General in Mombasa, Katureeba Tayebwa, said the airline identified the Kenyan Coastal region as having massive potential, with Mombasa offering everything a tourist would want to see.
The airline plans to increase flights per week in the next three months.
