Kenyan striker Michael Olunga has been in scintillating form for Kashiwa Reysol in the Japanese second-tier league, scoring 19 goals in 29 appearances as the team fights for promotion back to the J1 league.
On November 9, 2019, Olunga scored his 19th goal of the season in a 3-0 win over Kagoshima United at the Sankyo Frontier Stadium. The win took Kashiwa's point tally to 78 points from 40 matches, keeping them at the helm of the log with two matches to go.
However, Olunga may miss Kashiwa's next match against Machida Zelvia on November 16, 2019, as he will be away in Cairo with Harambee Stars, who are scheduled to face Egypt in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
