On November 8, 2019, a bizarre scene unfolded in a Nairobi court when Makadara chief magistrate Heston Nyaga ordered two men charged with assaulting each other to shake hands.

Muva Mutambuki and Moses Omondi had been charged with causing actual bodily harm to each other after a fight at a house in Kaloleni on August 30.

However, in a surprising turn of events, Omondi told the court that he and Mutambuki had reconciled and agreed to withdraw the charges against each other.

Magistrate Nyaga, seemingly pleased with the development, directed the two men to make a 'serious handshake' in the dock.

As the two men shook hands, the court erupted in amusement, and they were subsequently freed.
