On November 7, 2019, Imran Okoth was elected as the winner of the Kibra by-election, garnering 24,636 votes. His wife, Anne Ithara Okoth, who has been by his side since the campaign trail, has been drawing comparisons to former KTN presenter Esther Arunga.

While some have suggested that Anne and Esther may be from the same community, the two women have not confirmed any familial ties. Imran Okoth, however, has been quick to celebrate his win, thanking the people of Kibra for electing him.

"I am overjoyed that my husband has won the Kibra by-election. I don't have words to express my feelings, I would like to thank the people of Kibra for electing Imran, they are his leaders, without them, there would have been no victory here," Anne said in an interview with K24.

Imran Okoth's victory was a significant one, with MacDonald Mariga of the Jubilee party coming in second with 11,230 votes.
