Gladys Shollei, a Uasin Gishu County women representative, has sparked controversy within the Jubilee Party after calling for the expulsion of members who betrayed Mac Donald Mariga and instead campaigned for Imran Okoth in the Kibra by-election.
Published on November 9, 2019, Shollei made the remarks through a video on Citizen TV, stating that such members have no place in the party.
“The Kibra by-election has shown us one thing: we have moles within our party. They need to be expelled. We will take action, and I personally will ensure they are removed,” Shollei said.
Shollei's comments come as the party grapples with internal conflicts, with some leaders, including Kirinyaga Governor Ann Mumbi and Kibra MP aspirant Maina Kamanda, reportedly involved in the controversy.
