Published on November 9, 2019, Kisumu All Stars players have finally received their new contracts, bringing an end to the anxiety that had been plaguing the team.
The six-month contracts for the players and technical bench were renewed based on merit, according to Kisumu County Sports Chief Officer Thomas Ouko.
"We now have no reason whatsoever not to win matches. We need to move up the Kenyan Premier League table. This contract will be renewed to those whose effort and performance will be seen on the pitch," Ouko said.
CEO Nicholas Ochieng echoed Ouko's sentiments, emphasizing the need for good results, especially with the league almost halfway through and the team yet to register a win.
"This is not a chance to sit back and relax, this contract should pose as a big challenge. All we want is good results. We have an open window in December and we will be forced to do away with team members whose performance will be dire," Ochieng said.
