The Harambee Starlets national women's team kicked off their Olympics qualifying campaign with a thrilling 2-2 draw against Zambia at Kasarani Stadium on Friday, November 8, 2019.
Zambia's Rhoda Chilese opened the scoring in the 12th minute, but Harambee Starlets equalized through Martha Tembo's own goal at the half-hour mark.
Starlets took the lead again in the 74th minute through Vivian Odhiambo, but Zambia responded swiftly to level matters just a minute later.
The match ended in a 2-2 draw, setting up a crucial second leg for Harambee Starlets to qualify for the Olympics next year.
The team will travel to Zambia on Saturday ahead of the return leg on Monday.
