On November 8, 2019, the Harambee Starlets national women's soccer team faced off against Zambia's Copper Queens in a 2020 Olympic games first leg qualifier at Kasarani Stadium.

Grace Chanda gave Zambia the lead in the 12th minute, but Martha Tembo's own goal sent the match into the breather at 1-1.

Corazone Aquino scored the Starlets' second goal, but Rachel Kundananji's crucial strike ensured Zambia scored two away goals.

The winner of the two-legged tie will face either Cameroon or Côte d'Ivoire in the final qualifying round for a ticket to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The return leg will take place on November 11, 2019, in Lusaka.
