On November 8, 2019, Arsenal confirmed that midfielder Dani Ceballos would miss the team's trip to Leicester City due to a left hamstring injury.
Ceballos, who had featured in every single Gunners game in all competitions since his loan arrival from Real Madrid, sustained the injury in Portugal during the 1-1 draw against Vitoria in the Europa League.
Gunners boss Unai Emery told BT Sport after the match, "He has a small injury but I don't think he is [going to be available] for the next weeks."
When asked if Ceballos' absence could lead to recalls for Mesut Ozil or Granit Xhaka, Emery replied, "We are going to prepare for the match with the players, some players had a rest today and maybe someone who played this evening. But I think every player can be another possibility to play for Saturday and to be ready."
The injury is likely to keep Ceballos out of the forthcoming Spain squad for their Euro 2020 qualifiers against Malta and Romania next week.
