MP Lilian Gogo's Farting Bill Sparks Outrage ¶
MP Lilian Gogo, who represents the people of Rangwe in Homa Bay County, has proposed a bill to address a pressing issue: farting on flights.
According to Gogo, providing bicarbonate of soda to passengers after meals and drinks can help reduce the level of gas they exude during flights.
She also suggested including paramedics trained in basic first aid on international and local flights to manage food-related issues.
Gogo pointed out that passengers are often immobilized for long hours, making them more prone to offensive emissions.
She noted that flights such as Kisumu-Nairobi and Nairobi-Mombasa are particularly prone to high levels of farting.
However, not everyone agrees with Gogo's proposal. Lawyer Miguna Miguna called her sentiments 'juvenile' and 'petty', suggesting she should focus on serving the people of Rangwe.
Others took to social media to express their outrage, with some questioning the relevance of the bill and others suggesting that Gogo should focus on more pressing issues.
As one Twitter user put it, 'Imagine while 80% of your constituents won’t even have that chance of taking a plane. Why don’t you come up with laws that will help people and not just your selfish needs.'
