On November 8, 2019, Francis Atwoli, the COTU secretary-general, made a bold prediction about the outcome of the Kibra by-election.
Atwoli confidently stated that Imran Okoth, the ODM candidate, would win the election in a landslide, with a significant margin.
Speaking in an interview with Citizen TV, Atwoli said, "Imran Okoth will win the Kibra by-election before 4 am, and if anyone has doubts, I will find them after the election."
Imran Okoth indeed won the election, securing 24,636 votes, while his closest rival, MacDonald Mariga, received 11,230 votes.
Atwoli's prediction was not his first, and many Kenyans took notice of his accuracy in previous predictions.
