The Kenya Youth Inter-County Sports Association Games (KYISA) have been postponed by two weeks, from November 30 to December 8 in Busia County, to December 14-21.

The decision was made to accommodate the East African Local Authority Sports and Cultural Association (EALASCA) Games in Uganda from December 1-8.

According to Patrice Lumumba, acting Chairman of the KYISA Local Organizing Committee, the postponement was reached after a meeting with the KYISA Secretariat led by Secretary General Ambrose Kisoi at a Busia hotel on Thursday.

The sixth edition of the Games will feature football, volleyball, and basketball for both categories, with the participating counties expected to showcase youth talents and market their county's cultural heritage, hospitality, and social aspects.

December 14 has been set as the arrival date for the participating counties, with the opening ceremony scheduled for December 16.

The championship will be held in five venues in Busia County, including the Busia stadium, St Mathias Busia Secondary, Our Lady of Mercy St Monica Chakol Girls, Lwanya Girls, and Busia Township Vocational Training Centre.

Patrice Lumumba emphasized the importance of adequate security, first aid facilities, and publicity for the Games.

The championship features players below 25 years from the 47 counties.
