Kenya 7s Soar to Victory in Olympic Qualifiers

Published on November 8, 2019, Kenya 7s launched their championship campaign with a strong performance, crushing Senegal 50-0 in the Africa qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics at the Bosman Stadium in Johannesburg.

Kenya's Vincent Onyala and Johnstone Olindi each scored a brace of tries, while deputy captain Jeff Oluoch and Jacob Ojee also contributed to the team's victory. Billy 'The Kid' Odhiambo completed the scoring for Kenya.

The team will now face Namibia in their next Pool match at 5:30 pm on Friday, before wrapping up against Uganda on Saturday morning to secure a place in the semi-finals.

Uganda handed Namibia a decisive 33-17 defeat in the other Pool 'B' duel, while Zimbabwe beat Nigeria 47-0 in Pool 'A'. Madagascar edged out Zambia 28-21, and Namibia had beaten Tunisia 26-21 in the qualifying round.
