On November 8, 2019, a woman in Limpopo, South Africa was arrested and will face murder charges for allegedly feeding her 11-year-old son porridge laced with crushed glass, leading to his death.
Nthabiseng Mokwana, 28, had reportedly buried the body of her son, Katlego Mokwana, in a shallow grave after he died.
According to Times Live, the decomposing body was discovered days after she claimed that he had gone to visit his father in Pretoria.
She also has another child, a 5-year-old girl, who has since been taken by the father after the woman was arrested.
As reported by SABC, Mokwana was arrested last week after residents cornered her until she revealed the whereabouts of her son, who had disappeared.
Landlord Reginald Leshapa discovered the shallow grave where Katlego Mokwana's body was found.
On October 27, Katlego Mokwana was laid to rest at Maseven Village outside Jane Furse in Limpopo.
