On November 8, 2019, Bima App took home the coveted 'Best Innovative Company' award at the Insurance Agents Choice awards 2019, outshining Jubilee Insurance's Jubicare and Jubi Agent Apps.
Launched in December 2018 and tested in July, Bima App has gained significant traction, with over 10,000 users across various industries, including insurance agents, travel agents, and motor dealers.
According to Nancy Wangari, Head of Customer Service at BIMA App, the app caters to seven types of users, including the general public, insurance agents, and insurance companies, all on the same platform.
The app offers 10 classes of insurance, including motor, domestic, travel, personal accident, and life insurance, among others. Notably, BIMA App is the first to provide paperless quotations, notifications, renewals, and claims processes.
Wallace Gichoho, BIMA App CEO, explained that users can generate instant insurance quotes by entering relevant information and attaching documents, such as car log books, to their insurance policy.
The app's Emergency and Distress button allows users to find the nearest police station, hospital, or car garage and send a discreet message or GPS location to a loved one in case of an emergency.
Future plans for BIMA App include launching TULIZA, which will allow users to pay premiums in eight instalments, and enabling users to change the terms of their initial policy and transfer their cover to a third party.
