Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo visited Governor Joho at the hospital on November 8, 2019.
According to Richard Chacha, the county director of communications, Governor Joho had made a visit to the hospital when he felt unwell and doctors advised him to stay longer for a detailed assessment.
Chacha exclusively told TUKO.co.ke that Joho had responded well to treatment and was due to leave hospital on Friday, November 8, 2019.
Earlier on the day, Governor Joho sent out a congratulatory message to the Kibra MP-elect Bernard Imran Okoth.
Imran floored 23 other challengers including Jubilee Party's man McDonald Mariga.
Obasanjo was in Mombasa to attend a Future Cities conference where Joho was expected to address.
