Naivasha's Flower Business Park, a major hub for flower farms and seedlings production, is expanding its operations to meet the rising demand for roses and vegetable seedlings.

Established in 1998, the park currently produces over 1 million roses every day and hosts Plantec Limited, Africa's leading producer of vegetables and fruits, which produces 25 million seedlings every month.

Despite the economic challenges facing the country, the park's General Manager, James Waweru, says they are committed to investing in the country and creating jobs for its citizens.

'We have heeded calls from the President to invest in the country and all we are calling for is support from the State and a conducive environment to conduct our business,' Waweru said.

The park, which employs over 4,500 workers, plans to double its production and create more jobs in the process.

Plantec Limited's Director, Idan Salvy, also emphasized the importance of supporting companies like theirs, which are addressing the issue of food security, job creation, and taxes.

'This is a Ksh1B project and we plan to expand next year and double our seedlings due to the demands from farmers but we cannot do this without support from the government,' Salvy said.

On November 8, 2019, the park's General Manager, James Waweru, addressed the press, highlighting the park's achievements and plans for the future.
