US rapper T.I. has sparked outrage after revealing that he takes his 18-year-old daughter to the gynecologist every year to check her hymen.
According to an interview on the podcast Ladies Like Us, T.I. said that he and his daughter, Deyjah Harris, have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen, with the doctor requiring her to sign a waiver allowing him to see the results of her examination.
During the interview, T.I. recalled a trip to the gynecologist with his daughter after her 16th birthday, saying that he would put a sticky note on the door with the appointment time.
His comments were met with widespread criticism on social media, with many accusing him of being abusive and overbearing in his parenting.
As one Twitter user put it, 'This is VILE. 1. She's 18 and a legal adult. 2. There are loads of ways to break a hymen, and often girls don't even know they've broken it. 3. Why is it ok for a girl's father to be this invested in her vagina? Because it sounds creepy AF to me.'
