Published on November 8, 2019, Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp has praised Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola as the best manager in the world.
As the Premier League rivals gear up for Sunday's top-of-the-table clash at Anfield, Klopp expressed his respect for Guardiola, saying he's the best manager in the world.
Guardiola's comments about Liverpool's Sadio Mane, in which he suggested the player sometimes dives, have been a point of contention in the build-up to the match.
However, Klopp dismissed the verbal sparring, saying that sometimes managers say things without thinking about the consequences.
'I couldn't have more respect for Pep Guardiola, that's how it is,' Klopp said. 'For me, he's the best manager in the world and we have the chance to win against his team, which is very difficult but possible.'
Klopp also praised City's performance at Anfield last season, saying it was a show of respect for his team.
'Last year's performance of City at Liverpool was probably the biggest show of respect I ever got, that one of my teams ever got, because they played different to what they usually do,' Klopp said.
