13-year-old murder suspect rearrested after escape

On November 5, 2019, a 13-year-old boy, Jericho W, escaped from the Robeson County Courthouse in North Carolina, where he was being held in custody for two counts of first-degree murder.

According to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Jericho had been in custody at the Cumberland Juvenile Detention Center since October 14, 2019, and was scheduled to appear at the Robeson County Courthouse on the murder charges.

After his escape, the North Carolina Department of Public Safety released a statement on their official Twitter account, thanking all agencies involved in the search operation.

"The juvenile who escaped Tuesday afternoon in Robeson County is back in secure custody in a juvenile facility. NCDPS officials thank all agencies involved in this search operation," the tweet read.

Jericho was rearrested on November 7, 2019, and is being held in a juvenile facility. He is also charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.
