On November 8, 2019, Apptorney, a platform that promotes access to justice through a marketplace for legal services and information using inclusive technologies, was named the 'Best Startup in Zambia' at the Seedstars Africa Summit.
The platform's innovative solution earned it a spot at the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland, where it could win a $500,000 investment prize. Additionally, the winner will receive three months of access to the investment readiness program.
Apptorney was one of several startups that pitched at the Seedstars Lusaka event. The other startups included Brighter Futures Africa, Economic Recovery Initiatives, Edusongs Solutions, Garibara, Insurepay, Nyamukabooks, Payplus, and Tricore Manufacturing Company (TMC).
Brighter Futures Africa came in second, while Nyamukabooks took the third spot.
Seedstars World is a global organization that seeks out the best startups in emerging markets. Its next stop is Gaborone in Botswana, where it will select the best startup in Botswana.
