DP Ruto Congratulates ODM on Kibra Win

Deputy President William Ruto has congratulated the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) on their win in the Kibra by-election, held on November 7, 2019. Imran Okoth, the ODM candidate, secured 24,636 votes, while McDonald Mariga of Jubilee Party garnered 11,230 votes.

Despite the Jubilee Party's strong campaign, led by Deputy President Ruto, the ODM candidate emerged victorious. The by-election was marred by allegations of electoral irregularities, with some voters being intimidated and forced to leave the polling stations.

Deputy President Ruto acknowledged the challenges faced during the election and praised the Jubilee Party for their efforts. He also congratulated Imran Okoth on his win, saying, "Pongezi Bernard Okoth kwa Kibra. Hongera Mariga, kikosi cha Jubilee na wafuasi wote kwa kutisha bedroom na kustahimili fujo,"

McDonald Mariga, the Jubilee Party candidate, conceded defeat and congratulated Imran Okoth on his win. He expressed his willingness to work with Okoth to serve the people of Kibra, saying, "Vipi boss, ni Mariga na nakupigia simu kukupa heko kwa ushindi. Ushindani ulikuwa mzuri na niko tayari kufanya kazi na wewe ili kusaidia watu wa Kibra. Sasa uchaguzi umeisha na tutabakia marafiki na tufanye kazi pamoja,"
