On Friday morning, a tragic incident occurred in Nairobi's Kayole area, where two police officers attached to Obama Police Post lost their lives.
The officers, who were on patrol, were attacked by a gang that police were already pursuing.
According to a police officer who was at the scene, the criminals likely made off with valuable items from the officers, including their mobile phones, police pocket phones, and other personal belongings.
"The officers did not have their mobile phones, police pocket phones and other items, we suspect the thugs also made away with them," the officer stated.
At the scene, police found over five cartridges, indicating a fierce exchange of gunfire.
Locals, who spoke to us, reported hearing gunshots in the early hours of the morning but were too afraid to venture out due to the rising insecurity in the area.
"I heard gunshots in the morning but feared to come out because there was also a lot of noise meaning that they were many," said Ibrahim Kemboi, a local resident.
