Published on November 8, 2019, Kirinyaga County Governor Ann Waiguru has revealed her next move after her candidate of choice Imran Okoth won the hotly contested Kibra's by-election.

Ms Waiguru, who defied odds to campaign for ODM despite her party Jubilee having MacDonald Mariga as its candidate, has now turned her concentration fully to the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

She expressed her support for the BBI, which was formed by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga, saying it was at the heart of her agenda.

“Congratulations to Kibra MP Elect Benard Otieno Okoth Imran and Kibra people for voting in a true son of Kibra. Thank you for honouring the handshake. Walikucheka lakini things are different on the ground. Long live the handshake, forward onward to BBI,” she posted on her official Twitter account.

Ms Waiguru was amongst other governors who joined Mr Odinga in supporting Mr Okoth for the parliamentary seat. Other governors who accompanied her include; Ms Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) and Alfred Mutua (Machakos).
