On November 7, 2019, retired President Daniel arap Moi returned home after a successful hospital stay, putting an end to speculation about his health.

According to close family and government sources, Moi had been in hospital for two weeks due to chest complications.

"The retired president is back home, he was discharged after recording remarkable improvement," a family source told Capital FM News.

At 95 years old, Moi had been taken to Nairobi Hospital in late October for a procedure, which was successful, but doctors recommended further observation.

Government officials reassured the public that there was nothing to worry about, citing Moi's status as a public figure and the natural concerns of Kenyans whenever he is hospitalized.

High-profile guests, including Mama Ngina Kenyatta, visited Moi during his hospital stay.
