On November 8, 2019, Business Today featured an inspiring story of Sam Vidambu, the founder and CEO of Ambigen Group, who made a bold decision to quit his well-paying job as a Financial Manager.

At just 25 years old, Vidambu was earning a handsome salary of 65,000 shillings per month, but he felt unfulfilled, as he was not making an impact in society.

‘I was not really happy at my work even though I was making good money. Yes, I was getting my paycheck at the end of the month but I realized I was not really making an impact in the society,’ Vidambu said in an exclusive interview with Business Today.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Dedan Kimathi University, Vidambu had secured the job immediately after graduation, but he felt a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of others.

He went on to start Ambigen Limited, a company that has impacted the lives of thousands of youths through mentorship programs.

Through Global Mentorship Network, an affiliate of Ambigen Limited, Vidambu has mentored students from all over the world, sharing his story to motivate and inspire them.

His mission is to end poverty in Kenya, a goal that is deeply personal, as he grew up in a poverty-stricken family.

‘If we can help these young people develop ideas and grow their business, it will be making a step in ending poverty. The youths will also be kept busy hence reducing crime as well,’ he explains.

Vidambu’s decision to quit his job has been highly rewarding, and he was feted with an award at the 254 Youth Entrepreneurship Awards in the category of Social Entrepreneurship.

Today, Vidambu is an international speaker, having talked to students in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Nigeria.

He continues to inspire and motivate young people to pursue their passions and make a positive impact in their communities.
