Published on November 8, 2019, Gor Mahia coach Steven Polack is optimistic that his team will regain their momentum in the Mashemeji derby against AFC Leopards on Sunday.
Polack's charges suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss to Mathare United on Wednesday, barely three days after they were eliminated from the Caf Confederation Cup by DC Motema Pembe.
The team's poor performance was attributed to the players' reported failure to turn up for training on Tuesday due to unpaid salaries and allowances.
Polack, however, remains unfazed, stating that a good win would have given his team confidence, but a loss is also a wake-up call for them to show their true colors on Sunday.
The team has been in training since Thursday morning and will continue to work hard until Sunday's match.
