Published on November 8, 2019, Zetech University women's basketball coach Maurice Obilo is confident that his team, Sparks, has come of age and is yearning for improved performance.

After two failed attempts, Obilo says it has been a learning journey that has seen the girls improve since making their first appearance in the Kenya Basketball Federation women's Premier League in 2017.

Sparks will lock horns with University of Nairobi's Dynamites in game one of the 2019 season quarter-finals play-offs at Nyayo Gymnasium tomorrow.

Obilo added that his charges were looking to improve on last year's performance when they lost 2-1 to Strathmore University Swords in the quarters.

He emphasized that for them to achieve that goal, they must be at their best.

Sparks will count on the brilliance of Maureen Bosibori, Naomi Bosibori, Lucy Mbithe, Everline Nabwire, and Teresa Oloo, who have been instrumental in the regular campaign.

They finished fifth with 35 points, two less than Dynamites, who finished fourth.

On the other hand, Dynamites will bank on the services of Faith Atieno, Valarie Kemunto, Elizabeth Okumu, as well as Trizah Okeyo.
