On November 7, 2019, the Kibra by-election reached its conclusion with ODM candidate Imran Okoth emerging victorious, securing the seat left vacant by his late brother Ken Okoth.

Imran Okoth's win was confirmed after Jubilee candidate MacDonald Mariga conceded defeat, acknowledging the significant margin by which Imran was leading in the vote tally.

The by-election, which had attracted unprecedented media attention, was seen as a battle between ODM party leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto, who led the campaign for Mariga.

IEBC officials have finalized the vote tally and are expected to announce the results in due course.
