On Thursday, a surprise turn of events unfolded at DC Grounds in Kibra Constituency, where Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa found himself on the wrong side of goons.
Barasa, who is allied to Deputy President William Ruto, was calmly speaking to Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati when the scuffle broke out.
Arati's efforts to calm down the youth were futile as they demanded that Barasa leave the polling station.
According to eyewitnesses, the rowdy youth first grabbed Barasa's signature cap off his head before slapping him several times and shoving him.
Earlier on, Jubilee Party candidate in the Kibra by-election McDonald Mariga was chased out of Mayani polling station by locals.
Mariga, who was touring various polling stations in the area, was forced to flee in his vehicle.
