On Wednesday, a 40-year-old man was arrested in Mudeku village, Butere sub-county, over the death of his 44-year-old wife.
The incident occurred after a quarrel, during which the suspect allegedly hit his wife with a piece of wood, causing fatal injuries.
According to reports, the couple had been drinking together on Tuesday night before the incident occurred.
After fleeing to his sister's home in Siaya County, the suspect confessed his fears to her, prompting her to call their younger brother to check the house, where the woman's lifeless body was found.
The suspect was arrested and taken to Luanda Konyango police post in Ugenya sub-county before being transferred to Butere Police Station.
Butere sub-county police commander, Mr Alexander Makau, confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect would be taken to court soon after investigations.
